The First Reich:
The First Reich, written by Shannon Brady and illustrated by G. E. Gallas, is a biographical account of the Jewish-Austrian psychoanalyst Wilhelm Reich, the father of orgone energy. Through a fictional interview with Reich’s daughter Eva, this graphic novel explores Reich’s turbulent life — from a disciple of Sigmund Freud during the Nazi’s rise to power to a prisoner of the McCarthy era, wanted by the FBI and the FDA. Through Reich, we explore a unique perspective on crucial points in history and question the conspiracy theories swarming this man’s life.
